Emilja & Richard

The day finally arrives when Emilja & Richard fly out for a short stay in Albufeira

Thoughtful Richard brings Emilja out to see us as a Birthday treat for her

Happy Bunnies…

We are soon off in the van and encamped on Ferraguda beach down the coast for her inaugural Birthday dinner, or lunch as it was in this case..

Here the intended victims were shown to the eager punters

Yum Yum, starters were clams and prawns
Both girls turned their noses up at the clams which was great news for Richard and me..

A sombre looking chef barbecues the priceless fayre

Happy days...

Some old people..

Lets just check..

Back in Albufeira the evening swings along with lots of this and a few cheeky burgers

Next day we are off to Alvor & Portimao via several pottery shops and settle for lunch in one of the many restaurants in Alvor

Emilja and yet more shrimps

Go on, do me a favour...

Super grainy selfie of us in Sangria mode at Praia de Rocha

And here it is..

'Love's not so young dream'

Numpty with a beer..

We move down the coast just as far as we can, that will be Sagres then..

We take the hike around the coast to Cabo de Sao Vicente and look back to the fort where we are parked up for a few days

Nina's Vasco Da Gama impression…

Our beach, our time...

Running wild, these little fellas are a long way from their farmed cousins

Tree love Portuguese style

Surely their idea of 'Living the Dream'

I still have a jumper of yours Sir from two years ago, only worn twice!

Down on the surfers' beach we chill and watch how its done

The best of the afternoon...

And its gone in an instant…

A retired Hasselhof looks on in awe :)

A Drone & Odeceixe

Its not long before we find ourselves back at Andre's superb hideaway at Camperstop Messines

We join the sedate walking squad next day off in search of all things natural...

A right corker!

We pass four days here and manage to visit local Messines each day for one reason or another
Its here that we decide on buying a scooter on our return to the UK in the summer as it will make things much easier for us when we want to nip about in between rides and walking…or so the theory goes….

A brief stop at Silves sees us bumping in to Giles & Linda who we met a few weeks ago further north
Its not long before he has his new toy out and we are amazed at its agility and range of operation

Remote control and iPad gives us views and HD video of the nearby curiosities

The bonus here was he didn't crash it like the Dutch guy at Messines…

Next up, the heights above Monchique

and commanding views down to the coastline

The distant Lagos F1 circuit

We carry on that day and plant ourselves at Odeceixe, a favourite of ours on the west coast

The coastal footpath gives out beautiful views

Those crazy fishy people again, risking all...

Ignore this at your peril..

Sherpa Tetanus in full stride….
